The Waverley Calisthenics Competition, run by Merinda Calisthenics College, starts on 10 September and runs until 25 September 2016. Waverley will run at the Besen Centre, Station Street, Burwood and The Alan Ross Centre, Billanook College. Championship level to Division 3 compete at this competition.

This competition was created and originally run by Syndal Calisthenics College. When Syndal closed, many families transferred to Merinda Calisthenics College who have hosted the competition ever since. In 2016, the Waverley Competition Committee consists of Helen King, Kelly Finlayson, Kerry Jones and Lynda Salisbury, who have been working since May to organise and host this prestigious competition. The majority of volunteers who support Waverley are from Merinda Calisthenics College.

Waverley Competition committee member, Lynda Salisbury said, “We are lucky at Merinda to have very supportive families and past member families who are eager to support our Competition.” Calisthenics Victoria Incorporated (CVI) President, Angela Wijeratne said, “Good luck to all of the teams competing at the Waverley Competition. We are well into the 2016 team competition season and we hope all of the teams are developing and growing as they continue to perform.”

Limited parking is available at the Besen centre and there is a $4 fee (coinage only) for parking at the venue. The Alan Ross Centre has a medium size car park and street parking available.
