Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr Rod Fyffe will welcome competitors at the Division 7 Masters section on Saturday 10 September, at the start of the 2016 Victorian Calisthenic State Championships at Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre.

During the 2016 State Championships, approximately 1,160 competitors, 20 volunteers, 8 officials and 59 Victorian Calisthenic clubs will travel to Bendigo for the Victorian State Championships.

By regionalising select divisions of the CVI State Championships, more Victorian clubs have the opportunity to perform in a state of the art theatre, incorporate stage lighting and Digital Light Projections as part of their performance for the State Championships. The Ulumbarra Theatre opened in 2015 and has a capacity of 950. The theatre was built on the site of the 1960’s Sandhurst Gaol and is centrally located in Bendigo. There are various parking options available, the closest off-street parking is located at the Tom Flood Recreational Reserve. For a map and full parking details please visit www.ulumbarratheatre.com.au/Parking.

Mayor Fyffe said Bendigo is delighted to host this important major event at Ulumbarra Theatre. He said “Events such as the Victorian Calisthenic State Championships enhance Greater Bendigo’s reputation as a major events and sporting centre and are important because they provide a great opportunity to promote our wonderful regional lifestyle. I wish everyone taking part in the championships the best of luck and hope that everyone enjoys our great city.”
