Volunteer and support your local Competition

24 Aug 2016 by Admin

The Victorian Calisthenics team competition season started on 17 July and ends on 29 October 2016. In total there are 11 metropolitan competitions and 5 regional competitions across the state.

With such a busy competition schedule, volunteers are urgently needed to assist and support with competition operations. The optimum number of volunteers at each competition will help ensure Victorian participants have the best experience during the competitive season.

Volunteering is a great way to engage further with calisthenics. The Victorian volunteer is incredibly valuable to the development of calisthenics and, with the number and size of competitions growing, we need more volunteers to help support.

Currently there are volunteering opportunities in the following competitions. Should you wish to volunteer please contact the competition directly through the contact details below.

Barwon Calisthenics Competition Co-Convenor, Kate Hassett, said “The Barwon Competition are looking for new volunteers to help support. We need volunteers in all areas of our competition, especially on Sunday 11 September 2016. I think it is a great way to meet like-minded people, and also gain an insight as to how the Barwon Competition is run.”

Westside Calisthenics Competition Convener, Gloria Mason, said, “We have a committee of eleven hard working ladies who all have a “can do attitude” and just get things done. This Committee all agree this a great way to meet new people. We are looking for MC’s, Timers, Ticket Box personal & Stage Managers. We are offering to assist clubs with their fundraising if you join our competition as a volunteer. Your assistance to our friendly competition will give us enough people power working behind the scenes to run everything smoothly.”

Horsham Competition Convener, Amanda Craig, said, “We would welcome qualified timers and volunteers to man the doors.”

CVI State Championships Co-Convener, Anne Jenkinson, said, “The CVI State Championships is an exciting and prestigious competition and we are looking to recruit new volunteers who are passionate about this sport. A volunteer can be from any calisthenics club and we want to encourage everyone to come and give it a go. With three venues this year, we need the support of new volunteers to ensure our performers and teams have the best experience.”

Calisthenics Victoria Incorporated (CVI), CEO, Matthew Brown, says, “Volunteers are absolutely vital to calisthenics and we have some dedicated and fantastic volunteers who put their hand up each year to support local competitions and clubs. We encourage more families to become involved as it benefits their local competition and provides a rewarding experience.”
