Last chance to see solos for 2017!

27 Apr 2017 by Admin

A wonderful weekend of Graceful solos will conclude the 2017 Solo and Duo Competition Season this weekend.

The CVI State Championships final weekend of competitions starts tonight at the Besen centre! We are extremely excited to see soloists take to the stage for the final time at the Besen Centre and Kel Watson Theatre from Thursday 27 April to Sunday 30 April.

CVI will be hosting the Graceful Open Day on Sunday 30 April at the Besen Centre. There will be four sessions of open graceful solo sections, concluding with the Senior Open section. Don’t forget you can buy a 4 session pass and watch the entire day, including the prestigious Senior Open Graceful section.

We will invite the winner of the Senior Duo, 17 years Open Graceful, 16 years Open Graceful and 15 years Open Graceful to perform at the end of the Senior Open section while the adjudicators are completing their assessments. We will also be going #Facebooklive for the results.

In 2017, the winner of the Senior Open Graceful Section will be presented with the inaugural Betty Corrigan Memorial Trophy. Betty was a founding Member of the Australian Society of Calisthenics Adjudicators (ASCA), an ASCA Committee member and ASCA President. Betty was also the CVI President, on the CVI Board of Management, headed the steering Committee for the first CVI Constitution and was on the CVI National Championships Committee in Melbourne. Due to her lifelong contribution to the sport of calisthenics, Betty was recognised as a Life Member of CVI, ASCA and the Australian Calisthenics Federation (ACF).
