CVI State Championship’s inaugural Calisthenics Open Day will take place this Sunday 23 April at the Besen Centre. There will be four sessions of open calisthenics solo sections, concluding with the Senior Open section.

CVI will invite the winner of the Junior Duo section, 12yrs Open Calisthenics Section, 14yrs Open Calisthenics Section and 17yrs Open Calisthenics Section to perform at the end of the Senior Open section while the adjudicators are completing their assessments.

CVI State Championship Committee Co Convenor Sue Reeves says, “Each year the State Championships grow and the level of talent on stage is inspiring. Thank you to all of the State Championship Committee who have been working to coordinate this competition.”

This year CVI are also proud to introduce the Brenda Green Perpetual Trophy, for the winner of the Senior Open Calisthenics section. Brenda has contributed greatly to calisthenics as a participant, coach and adjudicator and is still involved with the sport today.

CVI CEO, Matthew Brown says, “It is a privilege to introduce this new perpetual trophy to celebrate Brenda Green. We hope that many families and participants can attend our new Open Day and enjoy seeing a wide variety of age groups and solos. Good luck to everyone competing this weekend.”
