This weekend sees us reach our penultimate solo competitions for 2017; the VCCA and South Eastern Solo Competitions.

The prestigious VCCA Solo Competition will showcase graceful solos across all age groups, including the Senior Graceful section.
The historic Vera Hopton trophy will be presented to the winner of the 16yrs Graceful Open Section and 2017 will also see the introduction of a new trophy, in celebration of Mrs Enid Feltham and her contribution to calisthenics, for the 17 Year Graceful Open winner.

Competition Convenor Bec Rose says, “There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes to run a solo competition, but once you see the talented performers on stage it always makes it worth the effort! We are thrilled that the senior graceful section is part of this year’s program, along with the introduction of the Enid Feltham trophy. Good luck to everyone performing this weekend!”

A large selection of Open and Open Reserve sections will be held on the one day this year at the VCCA Solo Competition, Besen Centre, with a special discount offer for audiences who wish to attend the whole day.

South Eastern Solo Competition, run by Bentleigh Calisthenics College, will take place at Kel Watson Theatre, Rowville Secondary Performing Arts Centre and Rivergum Theatre from the 7 to 9 of April.

Competition Convenor Melinda Jackson says, “We are proud to announce the introduction of sashes to present to the Senior Calisthenics Open Section winners and we look forward to enjoying all of the competitors who will perform over the weekend. We wish everyone the best of luck and thank you for entering our competition.”
