Victorian Calisthenics Team Competition Review Survey

10 Nov 2016 by Admin

Calisthenics Victoria Inc. (CVI) is working with Vicsport to conduct a strategic review into the CVI Victorian Teams Competitions.

As part of the Victorian Calisthenics Team Competition Review, Vicsport has created a comprehensive survey. This survey has been sent to the Club Administrators and all Calisthenic Coaches, and we encourage everyone to complete this survey, www.surveymonkey.com/r/CVI_Competition_Survey

Calisthenics Victoria Director of Competitions, Shirley Pettitt says, “The Victorian Calisthenics Team Competition Review is an important project and is part of the CVI Strategic Plan 2016-18 which aims to create a family-friendly and balanced sport.”

It has been identified by CVI that the Calisthenics season is protracted and in some instances is a continuous cycle with minimal break over the Christmas period each year. The impact of the long year and traditional competition scheduling and formatting is felt by many.

There are concerns that the current competition structure is impacting the future growth of the sport. Vicsport, in collaboration with CVI, is undertaking a consultation process with the CVI Board, clubs, coaches and key stakeholders to gather information on the current structure of the CVI Victorian Teams Competitions.

CVI have identified the overarching aim of this project as "undertaking a formal review of the Victorian Teams Competitions and making recommendations for improvement”. It aims to do this by:
• Improving competition scheduling, format and geography;
• Identifying how to deliver a team competition season that is family friendly and balanced; and
• Achieving an annual calendar that allows for greater marketing opportunities for the sport.

The survey is an important part of the review process and your feedback is highly valued. It will help inform the project and we strongly encourage you to get involved and ‘have your say.’

The survey closes at 11.59pm Sunday 4 December.
